📋 What We Collect
Information you provide
- Account details (name, email) if you create an account via Google, Apple, or Phone OTP
- Goals, nudges, rewards, and wellness logs you create within the app
- Profile preferences such as theme and notification settings
- Family group information if you choose to use shared features
Information collected automatically
- App usage analytics (crash reports, feature usage) — anonymous and aggregated only
- Device type, OS version, and app version for technical support purposes
- Push notification tokens to deliver your reminders
Guest mode
If you use Guest Mode, no account is created and no personal information is transmitted to our servers. All data remains on your device only.
What we do NOT collect
- We do not collect precise location data
- We do not access your contacts, camera, or microphone without explicit permission
- We do not build advertising profiles
- We do not share your data with third-party advertisers
💡 How We Use Your Data
We use collected information solely to:
- Deliver and improve the NudgeUp app experience
- Send reminders and nudge notifications you've configured
- Sync your data across your own devices (if cloud sync is enabled)
- Provide customer support when you contact us
- Process subscription payments securely (future feature)
- Send optional product updates and new feature announcements (opt-in only)
We will never use your data to serve you targeted advertisements or sell it to third parties — this applies to both free and paid users.
📱 Local Storage & Offline Design
NudgeUp is engineered to work entirely offline. By default:
- All your goals, streaks, XP, wellness logs and rewards are stored locally on your device using secure on-device storage
- The app functions fully without an internet connection
- No data leaves your device unless you explicitly enable cloud sync in Settings
Optional Cloud Sync
If you enable cloud sync, your data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3 and stored encrypted at rest on secure servers. You can disable sync and delete your cloud data at any time from Settings → Data & Privacy.
💳 Subscriptions & Payments
NudgeUp is currently free to use. We plan to introduce an optional paid subscription (NudgeUp Pro) in the future that will unlock premium features. When this launches:
- Payments are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play — we never directly handle your card details
- Subscription management (cancel, upgrade, downgrade) is handled through your device's native store settings
- We collect only a non-reversible transaction ID and subscription status from the platform — no full payment details
- Free-tier users retain full access to core features. Paid features will be clearly marked
- Refunds follow Apple App Store and Google Play refund policies
Your privacy protections described in this policy apply equally to free and paid subscribers. Paying for NudgeUp Pro does not change how we handle your personal data.
🔗 Third-Party Services
We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate NudgeUp:
- Google Sign-In / Apple Sign-In — for optional account creation. Their respective privacy policies apply to the authentication step
- Firebase (Google) — for push notifications and optional cloud sync. Data is processed under Google's data processing terms
- Expo / React Native — the app framework. No personal data is shared with Expo
- App Store Connect / Google Play Console — for app distribution and crash reporting
We do not integrate advertising SDKs, social tracking pixels, or data broker services of any kind.
👧 Children's Privacy
NudgeUp is designed for general audiences aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Family group features are designed for household use under parental supervision.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at nudgeupdaily@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.
⚖️ Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction — request that we correct inaccurate data
- Deletion — request deletion of your account and all associated data (Settings → Data & Privacy → Delete Account)
- Portability — export your data in a machine-readable format
- Opt-out — unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time via the unsubscribe link or in Settings
For users in the EU/EEA, these rights are provided under GDPR. For California residents, rights are provided under CCPA. We honor these requests globally regardless of your location.
